FAQ - Workshops
1. What is the difference between School Workshops, Public Workshops and Science Corner Activities?
School Workshops are aimed at school groups (years 3 to 13). These workshops are free for state schools, advertised on our website, run during term times, and can be booked by schools using this online form.
Public Workshops, designed to be of interest to people of all ages! They are offered during school holidays and are advertised on our website. They are also free, and can be booked via Eventbrite.
Our Science Corner Activities, which are part of our exhibition, offer short engagement activities typically aimed at younger children but enjoyed by all. These activities are free, they may be offered throughout the year and no booking is required. Follow this link to find out more about our ongoing and upcoming Science Corner Activities.
2. Where are the workshops held?
All workshops and activities take place at our Oriel Science Swansea city centre venue, located at 21 - 22 Castle Street, Swansea, SA1 5AE, unless specifically stated otherwise.
3. Are there any workshops/tours available for home-educated pupils?
We do not currently offer workshops for home-schooled children. If this situation changes we will be announcing this via our newsletter. Home-schooled children are welcome to attend our Public Workshops. To join our newsletter mailing list follow this link.
4. Are there any workshops/ tours available for other community groups?
We may be able to offer workshops to organisations outside of schools, but we may have to charge. Please fill in your request via this booking form, adding your group information to the ‘School Name and Address’ section and we will get back to you.
